A Little Dose of Happiness #08: Anxiety Relief & Thought Detachment

Hey friends!

Hope your Monday is treating you well. Today in my podcast A Little Dose of Happiness, I talk about two things. You can listen to the episode by clicking on this link.

Caught Up In Your Own Thoughts?! Try Detaching From Them

Do you ever feel like you are literally drowning in your thoughts and beliefs? The act of detaching from our thoughts is a difficult, yet powerful exercise. It puts us in the position of control, as opposed to our thoughts having control over us. I call it difficult because we have the tendency to loop our thoughts in with our identity. But what if our thoughts were simply that? Thoughts? A completely different part of our brains from who we truly are, and what we actually feel?

Try the meditation exercise that I recommend in the episode and let me know how it goes in the comments.

Quick Anxiety Relief

Over the weekend I was filled to the brim with anxiety. To the point where I just had to get out of the house or else I was going to have a breakdown. I often think that my future depends on the now. That I have to make the most beneficial decision and take the most advantageous actions or else I’m never going to achieve my goals in time. That’s quite a bit of pressure to put on oneself.

Show yourself a little love by trying out the trick I recommend when you are about to lose your mind over anxious thoughts. Did it work? Tell me about your experience in the comments.

And as always, be sure to subscribe to my podcast and let me know what topics you would enjoy listening to next.
